Nach dem knappen Monat in Peru ist es nun Zeit fuer ein bisschen "Zivilisation" in Form von: viel Natur, hohen Preisen und jeder Menge Touristen. Aber von Anfang an. Da Striez die ersten beiden Maerzwochen drei Freundinnen zu Besuch hat (Nikola kenne ich natuerlich aus Bayreuth) und die letzten beiden Wochen ihr Schwester plus Freund heisst es hardcore-sightseeing in Costa Rica. da jede der beiden Gruppen natuerlich so viel wie moeglich sehen moechte.In Costa Rica ist im Moment Hautpsaison, also sind die Preise flexibel und passen sich dem Ansturm hauptsaechlich europaeischer Backpacker und US-Amerikanischer und Kanadischer Touristen aller Alterklassen an. Es hoert sich aber schlimmer an wie es ist, denn man findet immer einen Platz am Strand oder im Nationalpark (von denen es hier nur so wimmelt, genau so wie von Tieren aller coleur), der halbwegs einsam ist. Vor allem merkt man auch jedem Meter den man extra geht an, dass er die fastfoodnaschenden "Nordamerikaner" abschreckt. Unsere Route ist kreuz und quer, so dass ich sie jetzt nicht im Detail erklaere, aber es ist von allem was dabei, Karibikkueste (Traumstraende, Bob Marley und Nationalparks), Hochland (Vulkane, Adventuresport, herrliche Sonnenuntergaenge und Nationalparks), Pazifikkueste (wunderschoene, stark besuchte und kommerzialisierte Straende, Touristeninfrastruktur nach US-Vorbild, Investitionsruinen, Surfer und Nationalparks) sowie - mein persoenliches Highlight, drei Tage im gemieteten Haus mit Pool und persoenlichem Zoo vor der Haustuere...WOW!!! Hier sind einige Eindruecke der Tier und Pflanzenwelt sowie der Nationalparks, wer also auf Pura Vida (in etwa Easy Going), Strand, Sonnenuntergaenge und Natur steht sollte Lateinamerikas weitentwickelsten und sichtersten Land mal einen Besuch abstatten, aber vielleicht nicht unbedingt in der Hauptsaison.

After almost a month in Peru it´s time for some "civilisation" that comes in the shape of: much nature, high prices and many tourists. But let's start from scratch. As Striez has some visitors in Costa Rica (split into two groups) we have to do some hardcore-sightseeing as they all want to see many different places. Currently it's high season in Costa Rica which means prices are quite flexible and raise with the number of tourists coming over - mainly european backpackers and US-American and Canadian snow birds. It sounds worse than it actually is as there is always a quite and nice place on the beach or in the jungle - if you walk the extra mile most fast-food-loving north-americans don't do. Our route is all over the country and - I admit it - am too lazy to note it down in the very latest detail but it's a mix of everything. From Carrabeanm Coast to the highlands in the middle of the country (incl. active volcanoes) to the pacific surfer coast as well as my personalñ highlight - a house in the middle of nature, with pool and the feeling of being in a private zoo...WOW!
